What is an MCB (Miniature Circuit Breaker)?

An MCB is an automatic electrical switch designed to protect an electrical circuit from damage caused by overcurrent or short circuits. It operates through thermal and magnetic mechanisms and is essential for electrical systems in homes and office buildings.

In general, an MCB provides two types of protection:

1. Thermal Protection (Overload Protection):
If an overload occurs (e.g., using too many electrical devices simultaneously), the bimetallic strip heats up and bends → automatically trips the circuit breaker.

2. Magnetic Protection (Short-Circuit Protection):
When a short circuit occurs, a high surge current flows instantly → creates a magnetic force in the coil → immediately trips the circuit breaker to cut off the circuit.
